As the new Executive Director of the Infosys Foundation USA, it is my pleasure to announce that we are hosting the 2nd annual Pathfinders Summer Institute – an intensive week of in-person professional development for K-12 public school teachers in computer science and making. Pathfinders will take place at Indiana University, Bloomington from 14 – 19 July, 2019.
If you are a K-12 public school teacher or know a teacher looking to build new skills and network with fellow peers who are passionate about empowering children for the digital future, this week is perfect for you / them. We have 21 professional development K-12 curricula to choose from. Teachers are encouraged to Apply Now! Special consideration will be given to high-needs schools, teachers from under-represented communities, those new to teaching CS and making, and districts demonstrating significant commitment to these subjects.
The great news is that all tuition, airfare, room and board for teacher participants will be paid to attend the Institute. To make this no-cost model possible, each teacher is required to match the Infosys Foundation USA donation with contributions from their schools, districts, PTAs or the wider donor community at DonorsChoose.org. Click here for detailed information on how this process works and how teachers can benefit from this unique summer professional development opportunity. Last year over 550 teachers enthusiastically participated.
Please note the deadline to apply to the Pathfinder's Summer Institute is April 15, 2019.
We look forward to an impactful week in Indiana this summer – as we all work together to build our computer science and maker education teaching skills.
